What we collect
We collect only what we need to reply to you, run the tools you use, and keep the site working.

We do not ask for sensitive information, and we ask you not to send it to us.
Your AI Readiness report is confidential. When you ask for the full report, it is created at that moment from your answers, attached to one email to the address you give, and then discarded. We do not store the report or your individual answers with your details, and there is no web link to it. We keep only the record of your request (name, email, company, country and scores) and, separately, anonymous scores with no personal information.
How we use it, and our legal basis
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, data protection law requires a legal basis for each use.
- Replying to you and arranging a call: our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and steps you ask us to take before a possible contract.
- Sending your Index report: your request, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Following up about our services: our legitimate interest in business-to-business marketing to the work email you gave us. Every email has a way to opt out, and we stop when you ask.
- Analytics and marketing cookies: your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.
- Security and spam prevention: our legitimate interest in keeping the site and our systems safe.
- Legal obligations: keeping records the law requires, and responding to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Brevo (email and contact management) to receive and manage your enquiries, send your Index report and, if you opt in, our weekly note.
- Anthropic (AI model provider) to help draft the “Our read on your answers” section of your Index report. It receives only your anonymous answers and scores, never your name, email or company, and does not use them to train its models.
- Cal.com (scheduling) to book calls.
- Cloudflare (hosting, security and spam protection, including Turnstile) to deliver the site and block abuse.
- Google Analytics to measure site usage, only if you accept analytics cookies.
We may also share information with professional advisers, if a court or regulator lawfully requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, in which case we will tell you.
International transfers
TEC is headquartered in India, and our service providers process data in the United States, the European Union and other countries. When personal information from the UK, the EEA or Canada is transferred abroad, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and on our providers’ contractual commitments.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and Index report requests: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
- Client records: for the length of the engagement and as long afterwards as contract, tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months.
- Anonymous Index scores: these contain no personal information and may be kept indefinitely.
When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymise it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information
- stop or restrict how we use it, or object to a use based on legitimate interests
- give you your information in a portable format
- withdraw a consent you have given, without affecting earlier use
UK and EEA: you have the rights above under the UK GDPR or EU GDPR. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local regulator, though we would like the chance to resolve your concern first.
Canada: under PIPEDA and provincial laws you can access and correct your information and withdraw consent. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
United States: depending on your state, you may have the right to know, access, correct and delete your information, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To make a request, email info@theexpertcommunity.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we reply within one month (45 days for requests under US state laws).
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable providers with strong security practices. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your information has been put at risk, please contact us straight away.
Children
This website and our services are for businesses. They are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on this page.
